Listening to Mphuzi Chauke’s debut album Vuyani, one can only assert that this is just the beginning of a great musical journey for the artist with a great and capable band behind him. Mphuzi Chauke appeared at Mapungubwe Jazz Festival 2016, Limpopo Province’s premier event held at Polokwane Cricket Field on the 17th December 2016 and shared the stage with legendary Caiphus Semenya, Thandiswa Mazwai, Zonke, iconic Angelique Kidjo, Selaelo Selota and others. 2017 saw him narrowly missing out on the performance at Midem 2017 in Cannes, France but got the opportunity to represent South Africa at the event with his team.
Midem 2017 was very good for the team as they are now lined up for performances in Brazil, Germany and locally in Mozambique. They are also looking at performances in France in 2018. With a new bookings and management partner on board, 2018 promises to be a great year where the band will traverse the South African music landscape.
